Natural Hair Washing Made Easy

I started transitioning few months ago, and have not done the big chop. So I noticed that my hair do tangle after washing and combing becomes difficult. When I remember that I will wash my hair it usually gives me a nightmare because of the headache I will experience while combing. I went into research to find out how to remedy the situation. Well, I know I’m not the only one who has experienced it. Nevertheless, I have discovered the right steps to follow to achieve tangle-free hair wash.

1. Wash your hair in sections! If I wash my hair all at once, I noticed that it tends to tangle and very difficulty combing. So I twist into sections.

2. Lightly finger detangle your hair before applying product to reduce knots in place. Of course, a full detangling session is most beneficial, so detangle with my fingers.

3. Apply your products in sections, the products I apply depends on whether I am doing protein treatment or just regular wash. For regular wash I apply castor oil overnight, then apply shampoo the next day and wash.
After washing I apply conditioner and other products I need to apply while it’s still wet.
These tips are obviously not the end of it all, but they definitely worked for me for. Remember, you may need to do some experimenting with your own hair to find what techniques work for you. When I am wearing protective styles sometimes I pour water on my hair while bathing and I so love the experience, that is one of the fun of wearing natural hair
